How to lock liquidity on Uniswap
7 November 2026
When a team can remove all the liquidity from its token's pool at any moment, buyers are taking a big risk. This is the classic "rug pull". A liquidity lock removes that risk for a set time: nobody can take liquidity out until the lock ends.
How it works with a hook
Usually people send their liquidity to a separate locker service. With a hook, the lock is part of the pool itself: the hook refuses to let your wallet take its liquidity out before the unlock date. Other liquidity providers can still come and go as normal. There's no extra contract to trust and nothing to claim back later.
Set it up
- Open Create a hook and tick Liquidity lock.
- Choose how long: 1, 3, 7, 14, 30, 90 or 180 days, or 1 year.
- Paste your token, set the price and sign. Add your liquidity right after from the same wallet.
How buyers can check it
Anyone can open your pool's hook on UniHooks and see the rules in plain English, including the lock. Because the rules can't be changed, the lock can't be shortened either.
Tip: pair the lock with Allowlist if only your team should be able to add liquidity at the start.
